Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata)

The Blue Jay is native to eastern and central Canada and USA. One of the smaller and more colorful members of the family Corvidae, which also includes crows and ravens, these songbirds are seen year round in most of their territory, but have also been known to migrate. Blue Jays will store seeds and nuts for use in the winter. because of this food caching habit they are often seen by backyard birdwatchers as greedy as they will grab several large seeds or nuts from a feeder at once and fly away.
